VIDEO 02:24 Afghanistan
Tea And Trouble With The Lion Of Panjshir

This is the Sky Reporter movie.
Story Tools: Email This Story
We first featured this series of three reports in April of this year. Ahmed Shah Massoud was both a brilliant resistance leader and a visionary Afghan nationalist. His murder by Osama bin Laden's suicide bombers on Sept. 9th, 2001, was a great loss for Afghanistan - and the world. It also presaged the 9/11 terror attacks in the US. Watch for Part 2 tomorrow, with Part 3 following on Sunday, the sixth anniversary of Massoud's assassination.

I was walking with my friend Basir on Wazir Akbar Khan streets in Kabul, that an old jeep stoped infront of a door and three men got out from the jeep. One of them had tied military shoes and a strong comando body, and a Pakol ( a kind of Afghan made hat, warm enough for freedom fighters to wear them in famous Salang Maountains).
He stepped out and I was as close as to have the honor to say Salam to him. He was Ahmad Shah Massod, a man that I have a lot of respect for.

I was in Tehran on my way to Turkey, that we got the news about Taliban occupied Kabul, I cried for Ahmad Shah Massod that night , I cried as I was sharing the same fears as he was doing the night he withdraw from Kabul. I cried for the future of my country, I cried as WE AFGHAN knew what going to heppen next. I cried how much shall Afghans suffer so that would be ennough for the enemies of my peoploe and my country.

He was fihgting the Shikhs of Suadi Arabia, the Dick Chenies share holders and Pakis of ISI that were the creators and supporters of Taliban.
I have a question for the American people, do you ever feel ashame of having politicians like Dick-cheny, Bush, ,,,,, the creators of USAMA BIN LADIN against America, and Taliban Mula Omer against Afghan People?

As an Afghan, especially if I think like Ahmad Shah Massod, dont I have the right to question these peopel, and ask them by which face they talk about bringing democracy to Afghanistan? were not these the same people who PUPMED billion dolars behind terrorirsts to train them to kill humanity?

Ahmad Shah Massod spent ALL of his life fihgting for MY FREEDOM, for today, I see today, a better Afghanistan as the result of bloods of people like Massod. Not the few thousand troops deployed here to trick the american people.

I am 36 years old, half of my life was spent in war, the other half was spent as a refugee. Now that I am back home, I am committed to never ever leave the country, I will do what ever I have in my hands to not let a war happen and if it did happen, I will choose not to leave and refuge in countries where they will blame ME for fighting, I will chose the right side, the usually hard side, and I will fight ALL my life, the way Ahmad Shah massod did for FREEDOM, HONOR and respect.

I believe we all hate war, but the brave-hearts are with those to fight a war that they know better than us how much they shall hate it and why.

"My massage to Mr. Bush is that they should stop Taliban as they are not a thread only to Afghanistan but if they are not stopped they will be a thread to you as well"\

It was Ahmad Sham Massod's massage before 9/11, to Mr. Bush in his visit to EU.

Despite the fact that I believe that we cant afford to be nationalists like Ahmad Shah Massod, but if it needed to be that way, then we shall learn from him.

Mirwais, you're right - Massoud visited Strasbourg in April, 2001 at the invitation of the European Union. At the time, he was leading the fight in Afghanistan against the Taliban and al Qaeda, with virtually no meaningful support from the West. He spoke the words you attribute to him.

Also he said:

"Day by day the Taliban become more and more isolated in Afghanistan, and this isolation pushes them to seek even further support from bin Laden, and Pakistan itself."

As we'll see in tomorrow's report and Sunday's, his warning went unheeded. His assassination and the 9/11 attacks followed four months later.

Mirwais, I am deeply moved by what you have said.

To answer your question to the American people, I can only tell you how I feel and how most of my friends feel. Yes, we are ashamed that bush and cheney have gotten away with all that they have done. We are angry and frustrated that our representatives on Capitol Hill will not start impeachment proceedings against them. They have broken our laws, over and over again, without anyone trying to stop them. We know that when their turn in power ends that bush/cheney and their fellow crooks will go back to Texas to live a peaceful life. We know that no criminal charges will ever be leveled against them. That makes us very angry.

BS-Lets get it right!

The liberal left are ashamed that bush and cheney.

The right loves them all - and thanks them for everything...except closing the U.S. border.

And by the way, NO LAWS where broken and if they were he would then be impeached.

Thank you U.S. Troops for always kicking our enemies as_____!

Come home soon so we can do the same at home....

Traitors......

There's always a BOZO in every crowd - no matter how serious and excellent the website is. It's too bad "Let's Roll" - who obviously even has trouble writing coherent sentences - had to leave his mark on this one.
